Austone have been making effects pedals in Austin Texas since 1997 when John Bessent and Randy Larkin produced the first Fuzz Nutz pedal as the result of Randy's dissatisfaction with every other fuzz he had tried. Since then the range has expanded into the wonderful polished aluminium beauties you see below (the photos don't quite do them justice). All the pedals are handmade and feature true bypass switching. These are no compromise pedals that are designed to enhance your tone not compromise it.

SOUL-O-STOMP

The Soul-O-Stomp is a class A preamp stage in shiny aluminium case with a big red light on it! This is a transparent booster pedal that lets your tone shine through. The preamp can be driven into soft-shoulder clipping with the IN control maxed out or set to give a serious clean boost or with the OUT control full on to drive your amp's front end into distortion. The distortion from this pedal is delightfully touch sensitive and cleans up nicely from the guitar volume. This can really lift the sound of a weak instrument or get your signal back up to strength after an effects chain. It is well worth working with the IN and OUT controls to get the best out of this pedal as you need to get the right balance between preamp gain and output level for your guitar and amp combination.
FUZZ NUTZ ***was £139 now only £95***
The Fuzz Nutz is what can only be described as a very smooth fuzz pedal. It has a quite a 60's sound and is very warm and fat - no buzziness here. The circuitry is all discrete components with no ICs and the pedal is true bypass resulting in a remarkably quiet pedal. In case you are wondering: Fuzz controls the saturation of the signal and Nutz controls the output level - enough here to drive an amp if required. As with all the best pedals, the fuzz is very responsive to the guitar's volume. Unlike this photo the pedal has a rather nice large red LED as well. If you are looking for a fuzz pedal then check this out as it has it's own character.

The Millenium gives you touch sensitive overdrive with a well voiced tone circuit. With the tone full on you get superb crunchy rock tones, back it off and you are into more mellow soloing tones. The output has plenty of level to drive your amp as well and to give your solos a boost. This pedal cleans up beautifully from your guitar's volume control without compromising the tone. If you need an overdrive pedal this should be high on your shopping list and you need to see the cool blue LED!
