Dave Barnett and Clive Davies have come to amp design from a slightly different perspective from some manufacturers and produced a remarkable little combo that delivers some seriously big sounds from a tiny package. The amp has very much been designed with the working musician in mind, not just by being small but by incorporating the kind of features that are really useful. Don't be fooled by its unassuming looks and diminutive proportions this is a serious amp that could fill any stage.
The Fifteen Thirty is, as you would expect, built to the highest standards. The amp is handwired and utilises a welded aluminium chassis for better conductivity. The cabinet is pine with comb-jointed corners and the speaker is a relatively new Celestion Century which is significantly lighter than standard speakers. The whole layout has been thought through to ensure the best use of space and balance the combo so that it can be easily carried in one hand.
The amp is a two channel 30 Watt 1x12 combo with reverb. Power is switchable between 15 and thirty watts to get the most out of the power valves whatever the size of the venue. There is a transformer balanced line out which is frequency compensated to simulate the effect of a speaker and this can be used with the combo speaker unplugged as the amp usefully has a dummy load to avoid damaging the valves. The two amp channels can be combined into a 'third' for an additional sound. The reverb can be switched between preset levels from the footswitch.
And all this in a package that is 428x432x254mm and weighs only 14kg including the footswitch.
