Koch amps are made in Holland to the designs of Dolf Koch. Koch amps are all valve with an enviable list of versatile features all for an amazing price. Transformers and speakers are custom built for Koch to match their amp designs and Koch guarantee to use the best valves available, tested and matched by themselves. Koch use a 1-12 grading system for the bias class of their valves allowing replacement without re-biasing the amp - however should you need to easy to find bias trimmers are available internally on the circuit board. The valves themselves are protected behind protective grills to avoid any accidental damage. The amps are solidly made with 11 layer birch ply cabinets and high quality hardware including gold plated switch contacts and come with a choice of silver of black grille cloth.

Classictone
A 40W EL84 equipped combo with tow channels driving either 2 or 4 10" VG10-25 speakers. This amp has a more tradition vibe than the other Koch amps with a more pronounced midrange on the clean channel and a subtler lead channel. To enhance the vintage feel the amp has a valve rectifier simulation circuit to give that soft clipping. Both channels have 3 band EQ and the master section has reverb and presence controls. This amp also features a Vibrato circuit with Depth and Speed controls that can be switched in and out from the 5 way footswitch. Both combos are open backed designs. In true Koch style though this amp includes some nice modern features to enhance its versatility:
- Rhythm/Lead volume levels selectable from footswitch - balance set on rear of amp
- Accutronics reverb - activated from footswitch
- Effects loop - activated from footswitch.

The baby of the bunch perhaps but packing a big sound into a very small package. This is a three channel amp with shared EQ. All channels can be selected from the supplied footswitch (on a stereo jack). The EQ section is enhanced by a mid shift switch and a bright boost/cut switch allowing for some fine tuning. The EQ is well voiced with every setting providing a useful tone. You would buy this amp just for its sounds and be getting a bargain but you also get a huge array of features:
- Recording output with speaker emulation (switchable between 4x12 and 1x12 settings).
- Direct outs - one without speaker emulation, one clean only and one for headphones. The amp has a built in power soak and speaker on/off switch allowing the amp to be used silently with headphones - not many valve amps can make that claim.
- Serial effects loop.
- Accutronics spring reverb.

The Twintone II is a three channel 50W combo powered by 2 EL34's. There are two sets of EQ, one for clean and one for overdrive - the overdrive has a 2nd high gain setting acting as the 3rd channel. The clean channel gives classic valve tones with plenty of brightness and snap - there is also a 'bright clean' input for less trebly pickups. EQ is passive bass, mid and treble. The overdrive channel has separate gain and volume controls and gains a presence control for fine tuning the sound. This channel gives plenty of rich tones from those 'just breaking up' ones to full on rock sounds. Kicking in the OD+ channel takes the amp into high gain territory with plenty of saturated sustain. A powerful little beast with lots of versatile features:

The Multitone takes the Koch design philosophy to its obvious conclusion with the great Koch sound and a host of user friendly features. The amp features 3 channels - clean, drive and gain. The clean and drive channels share an EQ but have separate volumes and the drive has a gain control. There is a 'Bright' voicing switch on both to fine tune the sound. The gain channel has gain and presence controls as well as the same bass/mid/treble EQ as the other channels and a mid shift switch for more modern gain sounds. The amp features two master volumes giving access to rhythm and solo levels on each channel. This has the same classic sounds as the Twintone but is intended more as a stage amp with the features to suit.

This is Koch's big rock amp! This offers the same facilities as the Multitone but with a higher gain drive and lead channel for some serious rocking out! No half power options here - why would you need them? This needs a 4 x12 cab and some crunching riffs but with that classic clean sound for those ballads.

Accessories
Pedaltone £275
This is a two channel valve preamp (utilising 3 12AX7's) housed in a rugged steel casing. Each channel has Bass/Treble and Volume controls with Channel two adding Mid and Gain controls for driven sounds. Each channel has two settings Channel 1: Clean and Enhanced and Channel 2: Low and High Gain. Taking things one stage further the pedal has a 12AX7 which is utilised as a 0.5W power amp to get classic ouput stage distortion. This stage has a drive and volume control and can be switched in and out.
This pedal offers many of the same features as the amps with rhythm/lead volume settings, speaker emulated recording out, headphone out and a series effects loop. We also have an output for a power amp and one for going straight into a normal amp. The pedal runs off a 12V AC power supply. This is quite a large pedal but it packs a large sound and offers a lot of versatility - effectively offering 16 different settings in the one box.
The Koch Loadbox II is an essential tool for any guitarist offering 5 levels of attenuation, the option to run multiple cabs, two direct outputs, a speaker simulated (two cab and mike placement options) output on jack or balanced XLR and a volume controlled headphone output. This little box adds in all those features that would be great to have in a classic valve amp and enables you to use it to full advantage.
The Loadbox can handle up to 120W of power and comes in 4, 8 and 16 ohm variants.
