LAG Guitars from France were created 25 years ago by master luthier Michel Chavarria who started out making small numbers of handcrafted guitars. Today the company produces a range of individual instruments in France and China covering all price ranges. The acoustic guitars featured here are made in China to a very high standard with some nice attention to detail and at this price point are some of the best available. Each season offers a different combination of high quality timbers and some variations in body shape. Lefthanders are available for most models. All the guitars are strung with Elixir's which we at Jam highly recommend for any acoustic guitar. The electro-acoustics use Shadow electronics to good effect, with a 4 band on the Spring and Summer ranges and a 5 band on the Autumn and Winter ranges. Standard features across the ranges are two way truss rods, the Lag sculpted heel, bone nuts and saddles and genuine wood marquetry rosettes (different designs for each season).

The Spring range have
a Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides finished in natural satin. The
neck is mahogany with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and the binding is
Rosewood and Maple. The guitars have a nice even response with a warm, softish tone but with enough clarity to
the top end to keep things precise. These guitars offer serious quality
for the money with superb finishing and attention to detail.

natural golden satin. The neck is mahogany with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and
the binding is Rosewood and Maple. The Summer range have a crisp, clear top
end but overall with a good rounded tone. The parlour electro-acoustic is a
nice addition in this range.

Autumn range have a Solid Red Cedar top with Indonesian Rosewood back and sides finished in
natural amber satin. The neck is mahogany with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and
the binding is Rosewood and Maple. These guitars have a warm, mellow tone
with a nice solid bass response and just enough clarity in the top end to
keep finger picking precise. The Jumbo guitar is particularly nice, the warm
mellow tone complemented by the larger body.
