The Moollon range of pedals are hand built in South Korea and are immediately recognisable from their distinctive etched casings. All the effects are of the highest quality, with distinctive voicings and most feature Moollon's own buffer circuit rather than true bypass. All the effects can be battery operated or via a 9V adaptor (not supplied). A quick glance in the back when you are changing the battery will let you see the immaculate wiring inside, the hallmark of a truely handmade product. The pedals all come in a very nice black presentation box with a silver logo lined with coloured tissue paper making the whole package feel special. As you can see from the photo opposite Moollon can also customise the cases if you so wish. All prices include UK delivery. |

CHORUS £249 This is a great analogue chorus which has no less than 5 controls to sculpt the sound. The large speed control on the lower right is designed to allow you (if you are dexterous enough) to change the setting with your foot! What you notice on plugging this in is that is exactly what you expect of an analogue chorus, expansive and musical, enhancing the guitar tone rather than imposing on it. The seperate wet and dry signal level controls really make it easy to dial in the kind of sound you are looking for and the tone control can take the chorus from crystal clean to a much warmer vintage sound. As with all Moollon effects this really is plug and play with little tweaking necessary to get a good sound. |

COMPRESSOR £199 The compressor is perhaps not the most exciting effect but this one does exactly what you expect and most importantly does it very quietly. This isn't perhaps the pedal for adding massive amounts of sustain but for adding that bit of punch to a clean sound to cut through or perhaps thickening up the tone of 'thin' pickup this does the job. This pedal was clearly designed for the guitar and exhibits no pumping or breathing effects. Obviously this comes into its own when you put it in front of a good valve amp giving that bit of extra kick really bringing out the harmonics. With this at the front of your effects chain you can really notice a bit more clariy from delays and choruses, making the effects that bit more pronounced. If you need a compressor then this should definitely be on your shopping list (and there isn't another one that looks as good as this!).

OVERDRIVE £199 Any similarity to a Tubescreamer is entirely intentional! This isn't an exact copy as the tone circuit seems to have a bit more range and also interacts with the drive control - as you wind up the drive there is an increase in treble. As you would expect this gives you a good midrange tone with a nice tight bottom end and clear biting top end. If you are after a well voiced and musical overdrive then look no further. |

DISTORTION £219 The Distortion aims to give you the sound of a vintage tube amp being driven hard. The tone and distortion controls interact so that the treble is boosted as the distortion increases. This has more gain than the overdrive and can really make an amp sing when combined with a bit of gain from the amp and is an ideal pedal for rock and blues playing.

FUZZ FOURTEEN £175 The Fuzz Fourteen recreates the old Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face sound of the 60's using hand selected components. Unlike other Moollon pedals this is a true bypass design. This pedal produces nothing but classic sounds regardless of where the controls are. With the fuzz turned right down you just get a nice round warm tone with a little bit of bite, full up and you get loads of sustain and harmonics with plenty of punch. Very effective in conjunction with the guitars volume knob.

LOTUS OCTAH £199 The Octah is an accurate reproduction of the old Tychobrahe Octavia giving the same mixture of fuzz and high octave however this time around without the noise! The transformer which is so crucial to the sound of this pedal is wound tested and tuned by Moollon to give the best response and consistency between units. As you would expect all the classic Octavia sounds are here from the more subtle slightly hollow sounds where the high octave is clearer to seriously loud fuzzed out (there is quite a lot of boost available from this pedal!). If you know the sound of an Octavia style pedal then this deserves to be on your list if you don't it is well worth a try as this kind of pedal can just add that something different to your sound and the sound varies quite surprisingly with the control settings and the guitar volume. This pedal is True Bypass.

TREMOLO £219 This pedal is focused on giving the kind of warm tremolo sounds that you get on old valve amps and it does this very well. The controls give a huge range of sounds from the subtle rhythmic pulse to the sharp and stuttering but all the sounds manage to sound warm and big. At the extremes of the range there are helicopter noises or very slow on/off cycles and in between all manner of washes and 'underwater' sounds. The slope control is the key here to getting the best out of the unit: at one end of the scale you get a hard attack with a soft decay and at the other the opposite. A neat touch is the flashing LED to give you visual feedback on the tempo. |

VINTAGE WAH £199 It is no coincidence that this pedal is very reminiscent of the old Vox McCoy Wah but here we have a few updated components to keep the noise to typical Moollon ultra quiet levels. In keeping with the original this doesnt have the largest seep available keeping its tones to the important midrange without any extreme treble (or bass for that matter). What this pedal has though is musicality which makes it eminently useable in any musical situation. The pedal is available in two varieties: either true bypass or the split bypass (some treble is lost from the bypassed tone) for the true vintage sound.
