Rainsong guitars are definitely something different - entirely engineered from carbon fibre they have taken the acoustic guitar into the 21st century. These are not a gimmick though - they have a great tone and character all of their own whilst still sounding like an acoustic guitar. What carbon fibre gives to the guitar is strength and stiffness allowing the tops to be thin and unbraced - this uniform stiffness helps to give the guitar it's projection and even tone. Where these guitars come into their own is as performance instruments - consistent on stage regardless of conditions with great electronics that have been incorporated into the design since conception. Couple this with some precision engineered necks that are ridiculously easy to play for an acoustic guitar (the Advance series has no heel at all!) and you have a guitar you can use night after night with nothing to worry about. There are two ranges:
- The Classic Series - the original all graphite model with a seamlessly glued one piece neck. These guitars have no truss rod - optimal relief is incorporated into the neck during manufacture and this neck is never going to go out of adjustment! These guitars are finished to show the carbon fibre weave in the body and are exceptionally light. There are 6 models available - the deep bodied cutaway WS1000 as a 6 or 12 string, the shallower bodied cutaway OM, the Dreadnought DR, the Jumbo JM as a 6 or 12 string.
- The Advance Series - an exceptional value way into the tone of a graphite instrument - with a one piece bolt on graphite neck featuring a two way adjustable truss rod. Slightly heavier than the Classic but with the same deep bodied cutaway shape and finished in Red, Blue, Black or Natural.
