******SOLD*****Levinson Blade R2 Misty Violet £600***********SOLD***********
An early 90's example of the R2 - in good condition but played so there is a small amount of fret wear and wear to the gold hardware and a couple of very minor dings to the body but none through the finish. This guitar has three Levinson single coil pickups with give a good range of classic sounds and are remarkably low noise - these are coupled with the original VSC circuit which has a slightly subtler voicing than the modern one but is equally effective at broadening the tones available and giving the output a significant kick. The tuners on this model are nice neat locking ones that keep everything well in tune in combination with the roller saddles at the bridge. The guitar plays like all Blades - superbly - making everything feel effortless - add in the top class tones and you can't go wrong. Serial No: 73415

****SOLD***Gretsch G6120SHB Brian Setzer Hot Rod - Metallic
Blue
£1249****SOLD**** The photo's here don't really do the finish justice here - you really need to see its blueness up close! It even comes with a matching blue and white strap! This guitar has a great acoustic ring to it which you can hear in the electric tone through the TV Jones pickups - bright but with plenty of depth. Controls are stripped down to a single volume control on the lower bout and a 3-way pickup selector on the top. The Bigsby B6C unit works well and the guitar stays in tune remarkably well, probably aided by the Sperzel locking tuners. Whilst this guitar obviously excels at the classic sounds you would associate with Brian Setzer, this is still a versatile guitar that would work well in many different musical situations. ***SOLD***1999 Rickenbacker 330 Turquoise £750***SOLD****
A nice example of a 330 this , in mint condition and a slightly more unusual colour. The body and neck are both maple construction with a generous slab of rosewood for the fretboard. The 24 fret set neck is fairly narrow but fairly rounded so there is still a bit of wood to grab hold of. Pickups are Rickenbacker's own single coils through individual volume and tone controls with an additional mix control for balancing both pickups together. This guitar gives you all the classic Rickenbacker sounds from jangles through to growling riffs. Comes with Rickenbacker hard case.

****SOLD*****1971 Lefthand Gibson SG Pro
Cherry
£800****SOLD***** A nice example of an early 70's SG, well played but still sounding and playing great. This guitar has great rich sound from the mini-humbuckers with plenty of clarity even when distorted. Hardware is simple with a large rectangular housed tune-o-matic bridge and Gibson deluxe tuners. Electrics are equally straightforward with two volume and two tone controls and a three way pickup selector. Whatever Gibson's intentions this is not a fancy guitar but just a great simple rock guitar - plug in and play. The guitar is in good condition with some minor signs of wear around the body edges. ***SOLD****1993 Fender Custom Shop Telecaster
£1550*****SOLD***** A custom shop Tele built by Art Esparza, in the style of the 40th Anniversary models -these guitars were put together because of the sheer number of orders for the original run of the anniversary guitars. The guitar features a subtle flame maple top with ivoroid binding on an ash body. Hardware is gold with a modern style individually adjustable bridge and the Fender tuners sport pearloid buttons. The flame maple 22 fret neck is a slim C profile. Pickups are Fender Custom shop own. What can you say about an instrument like this? It is a Tele in true Fender style with the pickups delivering the sounds you expect with all the clarity and punch you only get with a custom built instrument. Playability is superb and it is easy to lose a few hours playing this guitar. This guitar is in very good condition and is quite a rare instrument. This dates back to the early days of the Fender Custom shop and has the original Artists palette logo on the rear of the headstock. Comes with the original hard tweed case. Serial No: C 900630 |

*********SOLD**********2004 Suhr Chambered Classic
T Transparent Honey £1550****SOLD*****
A good example of John Suhr's work - signed by the man himself on the rear of the headstock. This has a basswood body coupled with a striking quilt maple top and has a bolt on maple neck with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and a matching figured headstock with an Abalone logo. The neck is a slim C section which works well with the varying neck radius of 10-14" and the medium frets. Pickups are two single coil V60's and an SSH Humbucker at the bridge with a single volume and tone control and a five way pickup selector. Hardware is all chrome with Sperzel locking tuners and Suhr's standard two pivot trem. This is one of those guitars that you don't want to put down, 'just right' playability and great sounds - what more could you want. The humbucker has plenty of midrange but also plenty of bite at the top end keeping your sound clear and focused and the single coils give vintage single coil sounds but without being harsh or brittle. This guitar is in mint condition. Comes with fitted hard case. Serial No: 3739

***SOLD***Soldano Astroverb 16 Head and 2x12 Cab £900***SOLD**** Don't be fooled by the name, this is a 20 Watt, EL84 equipped, class AB, all valve head handcrafted in Seattle. You only have to look at any amp modeller to see how influential the Soldano sound has been - they all have a preset for 'that sound'. This is a nice simple amp with the basic controls - preamp gain, master volume, presence, reverb and the usual tone controls. While this amp is capable of some good clean sounds (fairly smooth with a little high end twang) it excels when the gain is wound up. What you get here is a tight focused sound with plenty of depth - this amp makes single coils sound fat - and loads of harmonics. The tone controls have a good musical sweep giving enough control to tailor the sound whilst retaining that Soldano tone. The closed back 2 x 12 cab with its Eminence speakers is well suited to the amp and gives a good spread of sound. Realistically this amp is too quiet on completely clean sounds to gig with but when wound up at full tilt it is a beast to be reckoned with. This has an Accutronics reverb and two speaker outs. The amp was only three months old when part-exed and is in pristine condition.

****SOLD***Sheldon True Tone 1 2x12 Combo £1400*****SOLD**** The Sheldon is a single channel master volume class AB amp - this one fitted with a pair of 6L6's in the power stage giving about 40W at full tilt. The amp has the option of running triode or pentode to give a half power option and squeeze the best out of the output valves at lower volumes. The amp features the usual Bass/Middle/Treble controls which are well voiced providing a good range of useful tones but also a Compass and Freeze control. The Compass control adds a bit of high end sparkle when set towards the SW and emphasising the upper mids towards the SE - North being flat. The Freeze control is a high-cut control within the power amp section which is very effective at taking the amp from smooth and mellow right through to real biting, stinging tones. Add into this the footswitchable Special Sauce control which allows a level boost by bypassing the tone controls - at full boost the tone circuit is fully bypassed although the Compass and Freeze controls still allow you to shape the tone. The amp features two parallel speaker outs with speaker impedance switching.
|
For those of you who like to experiment
with valves the TT1 has test points and range and balance controls to allow
easy biasing.
This is a great responsive amp with plenty of volume on hand through the Celestion Vintage 30's. |

****SOLD***Randall RH50T Head and 2x12 Cab
£400****SOLD***** This amp was definitely born to rock - a three channel head with a serious amount of gain available. The amp sports 2 EL34's and 4 12 AX7's and is well built with a solid cab and a well laid out, tidy interior. There are three channels, one clean and two gain - the two gain share an EQ section. The clean channel has a good full sound and the EQ is capable of some serious sound shaping so most kinds of sound are available - there isn't masses of headroom before this channel breaks up but enough for serious gigging. The clean boost function gives the clean channel a serious kick and in most cases takes into gentle break-up for some more bluesy, edgy sounds. The lead channel is classic rock from the lowest gain setting through to the highest which should be enough gain for most of us! There are some seriously saturated sustaining sounds on offer here with plenty of depth but also some great crunchy rhythm ones as well. The amp comes with a 4 way footswitch for channel select, clean boost, and reverb selection. There is an effects loop and two speaker outs for 4 and 8 Ohm cabs. The 2x12 Cab is loaded with Celestion Vintage 30's and can run in stereo. The amp is as new and has hardly been used. |

*****SOLD****Roland JC55 £275*******SOLD Baby brother to the more well known and legendary JC120 but with plenty of the same sound. The fat stereo Chorus is a classic sound and most people won't need to use anything other than the preset option, however manual speed and depth controls are available if you want to get more experimental sounds. The amp has a clear, neutral tone, slightly limited in the bass, having only 8" drivers but very useable. The distortion is actually not that bad for solid state but that isn't really the reason to buy this amp. There is quite a bit of volume here but realistically for bigger gigs this would need to be miked up although it could easily be used for solo gigs. What this amp does, it does very well and being a Roland will probably go on for years.
